This year the Knight family camping trip was at Baker Park and Lake Independence. I said I would not camp with the baby this year so the close location allowed Harrison and I to come out for the day. The first night started out with quite the adventure at the storms rolled in and the tornado warning meant the kids were camped out in the bathroom until 1:30 am. They were troopers, no tears.
Saturday morning I woke up without power in the house. Grandpa and Grandma across the street and Kate were all out as well. So after having to drive to Glen Lake with Kate and Jenna for our morning coffee I finally got the car loaded and off Harrison and I went to pick up Great Grandma Farmer. It was hot and humid on Saturday but down by the lake there was a nice breeze and so that is where we spent the next 6 hours.
This good little boy just sat in the shade and played the entire day! He did spend a little time napping in Grandma's arm too.
The kids loved the beach and spent most of the day in the water.
My little boy is getting so big but he still loves to snuggle and hug his mommy!
At the beginning of the day Jameson spent most of the time in the sand. He is a little more cautious around the water than the older two but it did not take too long and he was right there with them.
So after being woken up in the middle of the night, spending 2 hours in the bathroom, going without a nap and playing in the sun all day this little guy was exhausted. He fell asleep waiting for dinner.
And slept until 9:30 the next day!
Sunday after they packed up camp it was back down to the beach. They loved burying Aunt Leslie in the sand.
They did not get home until dinner time on Sunday. They were full of stories from the weekend and were already talking about camping again next year!
