Country Jam

Shanon invited me to work the Pepsi stand at Country Jam this year. With Blake Shelton closing on Friday I jumped at the chance to go. Since Ashley couldn't go this year Shanon asked if Kate wanted to join us. It was a hot day but we stayed sort of cool in the our stand out of the sun.
Gotta love the free Cenex hats!
When our shift was over we grabbed a bite a to eat and found a spot to enjoy the rest of the concert.
It cooled off a little as the sun started to set. It was a beautiful night for a concert....
Until the clouds moved in and we had a crazy lightning show in the back drop behind Blake as he played. Unfortunate the weather looked like it could get bad and they called his concert off early. It was such a bummer because he was putting on a great show. They rushed everyone out of the park in a huge herd only to get to the car and sit in the lot for an hour. It is a good thing the storm never came because we were sitting ducks in that grass field.
Even with the concert cut short it was a great day with great company!

This is what happens when your daughter doesn't get the sister she was hoping for ... Her poor baby brother!

Knight family camping

This year the Knight family camping trip was at Baker Park and Lake Independence. I said I would not camp with the baby this year so the close location allowed Harrison and I to come out for the day. The first night started out with quite the adventure at the storms rolled in and the tornado warning meant the kids were camped out in the bathroom until 1:30 am. They were troopers, no tears.
Saturday morning I woke up without power in the house. Grandpa and Grandma across the street and Kate were all out as well. So after having to drive to Glen Lake with Kate and Jenna for our morning coffee I finally got the car loaded and off Harrison and I went to pick up Great Grandma Farmer. It was hot and humid on Saturday but down by the lake there was a nice breeze and so that is where we spent the next 6 hours.
This good little boy just sat in the shade and played the entire day! He did spend a little time napping in Grandma's arm too.
The kids loved the beach and spent most of the day in the water.
My little boy is getting so big but he still loves to snuggle and hug his mommy!
At the beginning of the day Jameson spent most of the time in the sand. He is a little more cautious around the water than the older two but it did not take too long and he was right there with them.
So after being woken up in the middle of the night, spending 2 hours in the bathroom, going without a nap and playing in the sun all day this little guy was exhausted. He fell asleep waiting for dinner.
And slept until 9:30 the next day!
Sunday after they packed up camp it was back down to the beach. They loved burying Aunt Leslie in the sand.
They did not get home until dinner time on Sunday. They were full of stories from the weekend and were already talking about camping again next year!

4th of July weekend

Fourth of July weekend the whole family was up at the cabin. It was so nice for the kids to spend the weekend with their cousin Owen.
Grandpa had loads of sand brought in to beef up the the beach. Now is spans from one dock to the other. The kids are loving it!
Susie came out on the fourth to spend a couple hours on the lake.
Mommy got some good snuggle time with Harrison while trying to keep him in the shade
Owen loves his cousin! He loves him so much that he tries to eat him for lunch! The video we took of this was hilarious. We tried to give Owen a toy but he threw it aside and went right back to Harrison's arm.
Grandpa took some great pictures of these to just hanging out together on the back step.
Grandma bought the kids all red, white and blue outfits for the day.

Cousin play time
This was really the first year the older two got to see big fireworks. We did not even have to the fight the bugs. We just watched a little from the dock and then from the screen porch. There are all sorts of fireworks that go off around the lake.
We had some great weather and were able to take a couple of nice boat rides
Jameson loves to help Grandpa drive the boat.
On Sunday we went over to spend some time with the Gilboes. It was a beautiful morning and they have a great beach at the place they stay. This has become an annual event for the Knights and Gilboes.

In True Jameson form he was refusing to take a picture with Daddy. Grandpa did however sneak this great one later in the day!
